About the Role
Our client, a leading food services company, is seeking a seasoned General Manager, Food & Nutrition Services to lead daily operations at a large Hospital Center, a 900-bed flagship facility committed to compassionate, patient-first care. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing all aspects of food and nutrition services, including patient meals, retail dining, doctors lounge, and catering.
As the senior-most leader on-site, you'll drive operational excellence, financial performance, and a culture of service that enhances the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all food service operations across multiple service lines
Ensure delivery of high-quality, safe, and satisfying food experiences
Meet and exceed financial targets and client expectations
Build strong relationships with nursing, clinical teams, and hospital leadership
Develop strategic plans and foster a positive, inclusive team culture
Ensure compliance with Sodexo standards and DC regulations
Oversee administrative functions including payroll, cash control, and special events
What You Bring
Proven leadership in healthcare food & nutrition services
Strong background in operations, finance, and client relations
Passion for patient experience and nursing collaboration
Experience managing large teams and multiple priorities
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Deep understanding of regulatory compliance in Washington, DC
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of management experience, in a large venue, hospital or hotel (min. 900 beds and thousands of people served daily)
Minimum 5 years of functional experience in food service leadership
Prior experience as a General Manager in a healthcare setting is required
