About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health)

Profession : Registered Nurse

Duration : 52 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 8 (2 : 30 PM - 10 : 30 PM)

Experience : Minimum years of experience required.

License : Current licensure as registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio.

Certifications : Required certifications as applicable.

Must-Have : Must have clear bags; must clear metal detector; no silverware.

Description :

Provides professional nursing care in a correctional facility.

Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients.

Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs.

Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatment plans.

Monitors patients under restraint and provides immediate medical attention to emergencies.

Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals when necessary.

Responsible for all health care of bedridden patients.

Evaluates care needed and rendered and creates care plans.

Teaches health care principles and administers medication including narcotics.

Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, and CPR.

Organizes and oversees emergency response teams.

Directs health care staff assigned to the area.

Documents all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information.

Completes required reports and maintains inventory of controlled substances.

Arranges for medical appointments and prescriptions as ordered by physicians.

Serves as a liaison with others in the organization and attends meetings.

Participates in staff development and trains new employees.

Ability to demonstrate physical fitness and write meaningful and accurate reports.
