Your Opportunity

The Merchandiser Supervisor's primary function is to independently supervise, merchandise, and stock products at various customer sites in accordance with specifications; improve shelf positioning and increase product display space. This position maintains all Point-of-Sales materials and utilizes current flavor schematics for all products. Follows established route lists, keeps route materials up to date and demonstrates sound safety practices. Provides supervision with responsiblity for training, leading and managing an assigned team of merchandisers to maintain presentation standards for all products in accordance with mutually agreed upon customer standards. In addition, this position is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and communicating support activities for the team to achieve budgeted sales and profit objectives and may assist with staffing needs.

Core Responsibilities

Provides Merchandising and retail support for all accounts. Executes store sets; works with warehouses for product placement.

Maintains all Point-of-Sales material.

Ensures all retail stores have the proper Smithfield and Private Label items on the shelves in order to increase product distribution.

Assists with promotions and executing advertising campaigns.

Develops relationships at store, wholesale and manufacturing levels.

Utilizes market data (rankings, sales trends, etc.) to improve placement and retail support.

Coordinates demos and training to incorporate product knowledge, merchandising and food safety, as necessary.

Provides training, guidance and supervision to other Store Merchandisers.

Schedules assigned Store Merchandisers to accomplish account objectives in support of merchandising and presentation standards.

Trains, evaluates and mentors staff for positive and sustainable performance in accordance with the highest of Kretschmar standards providing consistent feedback to both assigned sales merchandisers and sales management.

Communicates opportunities and successes observed in the field with recommendations for ongoing improvement in all facets and activities in support of sales and profit objectives.

Works as a lead of special projects or programs that are important to merchandising focus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or related field and 3+ years experience in Sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.

Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word and Sales software.

Planning, organization, and execution skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.

Customer service and organizational skills - Current driver’s license and clean record, required.

Ability to travel in market 100% of the time. Ability to travel outside of market up to 40% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides leadership and guidance tostaff of Merchandising Specialists.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
