Description :
EXEMPT. Provide technical and administrative supervision to union and non-union employees, subordinate superintendents and others as directed. Perform general functions inherent in a supervisory position, schedule work to be performed, monitor progress and activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. Responsible for the implementation and compliance of safety and security policies, procedures and instructions for field / project operations including all state and federal codes, requirements, and standards.
Must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Should be competent in handling simultaneously-occurring tasks and smaller projects, and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Duties
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and support.
- Manage / oversee field work activities, assignment of resources, and daily work authorizations, providing technical and administrative supervision to project personnel.
- Implement safety and security policies, procedures, and instructions for field / project operations.
- Assist in the identification and procurement of needed project resources.
- Interface with clients, multiple subcontractors, and vendors.
- Monitor activities of daily work practices of personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with established programs, specifications, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Ensure operational activities are in compliance with specifications and are on schedule and within budget.
- Prepare progress and expenditure forecasts and assist with schedule updates and status reports.
- Assist in the development, review, and update of project documents such as plans, procedures, work packages, job hazard analyses (JHAs), reports, etc., which govern field / project operations, and monitors adherence to same.
- Maintain project records such as progress and field records.
- Hold plan of the day (POD) and end of shift (EOS) meetings.
- Implement approved training programs for designated personnel to ensure progressive training and assist with training of personnel.
- Periodically review the qualification status of assigned personnel to assure only qualified personnel perform field work.
- During off-normal or emergency conditions, interfaces with emergency response personnel as necessary to inform or keep informed of changing conditions.
- Monitor union / labor relations within the assigned area, as applicable.
- waste packaging and loading, and decontamination of various equipment ranging from basic hand tools to large pieces of equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Employee is exposed to normal office conditions when not in the field. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.In the field, employee may be exposed to radiological hazards, extreme weather conditions, loud noise, or be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection.Requirements :
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.5 or more years of experience supervising projects with scope that includes demolition, construction, radiological decontamination, characterization, or waste management.Experience utilizing best practice project management principles and controlsExperience working in federal contracting environment and locations (military installations, national laboratories, etc)Experience managing craft laborDemonstrated knowledge of applicable regulations and pertinent industry standards.Proficient using MS Word, Excel, and OutlookWillingness to lead a work crew and travel to various work locations across the United States preferred.
