Compliance Associate - Long / Short Hedge Fund

We are currently looking for a Compliance specialist for a multibillion Equity L / S Hedge Fund in New York. The successful candidate will have 2-6 years' experience at a hedge fund in a dedicated Compliance role.

The role offers mentorship from a hugely experienced CCO who has over 10 years exp of buy-side Compliance. They are committed to building a well rounded team of Compliance specialists who are capable of working efficiently on all areas of Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CCO with implementing the firm's compliance program which consists of SEC compliance, state specific compliance and compliance in international jurisdictions
• Create, modify, update and implement the company's compliance policies.
• Work with outside consultants to prepare and file periodic regulatory reports in a timely manner
• Design and monitor control systems to test internal policies, document results and recommend effective improvements
• Provide compliance support, advice and guidance to all areas of the business (including front office)
• Communicate emerging compliance issues to management and / or employees
