The Outreach Coordinator supports Creative Living's visibility and community presence by assisting with outreach, engagement, and storytelling efforts that reflect who we are and why our work matters. This role contributes to how Creative Living shows up online, on campus, and throughout the Columbus community by helping share authentic stories of independence, connection, and opportunity.

Working in close collaboration with the Development Director, the Outreach Coordinator supports outreach and engagement efforts that help carry Creative Living's mission and messaging into the community. The focus of this position is on execution, engagement, and relationship-building—supporting social media activity, volunteer engagement, and community outreach that aligns with and advances fundraising and development efforts.

Structured as a part-time, semester-friendly position, this role is designed to be approachable, trainable, and transferable, while still playing an important role in strengthening Creative Living's connections with students, volunteers, donors, and community partners.

    Primary Responsibilities & Duties

Digital Outreach, Social Media & SEO

    • Manage and regularly update Creative Living's social media platforms, ensuring content is engaging, mission-aligned, and reflective of resident life, campus connections, events, and partnerships.
    • Create, schedule, and publish short-form content (photos, reels, captions, basic graphics) that increases visibility, reach, and engagement.
    • Support basic SEO efforts by optimizing website content, blog posts, and event pages to improve search visibility and awareness.
    • Monitor engagement metrics and trends, providing basic insights to inform outreach priorities and content planning.

Volunteer Engagement, Campus & Community Connections

    • Support volunteer recruitment and engagement efforts across multiple groups, including college students, student organizations, corporate volunteer teams, and individual community members.
    • Serve as a welcoming and responsive point of contact for prospective volunteers, helping coordinate group and individual opportunities in collaboration with the Development Director and management team.
    • Assist with organizing, scheduling, and communicating volunteer activities to ensure positive, inclusive, and well-coordinated experiences for both residents and volunteers.
    • Support relationship-building with corporate and community volunteer partners to encourage repeat engagement and ongoing involvement.

    Community Outreach & In-Kind Partnerships

    • Identify and cultivate relationships with local businesses, corporate partners, and community organizations to secure in-kind donations for fundraising events.
    • Conduct outreach throughout the Columbus metro area, including in-person visits, follow-up communications, and relationship maintenance.
    • Represent Creative Living professionally and enthusiastically when engaging business owners, sponsors, and community partners.
    • Coordinate in-kind donation logistics in collaboration with the Development Director and event teams.

    Fundraising & Event Engagement Support

    • Provide on-the-ground and logistical support for all Creative Living fundraising and community events.
    • Assist with outreach-related components of campaigns, including social media promotion, volunteer coordination, and community engagement.
    • Support newsletter content, graphic campaigns, and promotional efforts by contributing ideas, content, and execution support, under the direction of the Development Director.

Skills & Competencies

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, engaging, and professional presence.
    • Comfort representing an organization in public, both in-person and online.
    • Creativity and confidence in social media content creation and digital storytelling.
    • Basic understanding of SEO, digital engagement, and analytics (or strong willingness to learn).
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple outreach efforts simultaneously.
    • Self-directed, reliable, and comfortable working independently with appropriate guidance.
    • Ability to build authentic relationships with volunteers, donors, and community partners.
    • Proficiency with social media platforms and comfort using tools such as ChatGPT, Asana, and CRM systems.

Required Education & Preferred Experience

    • Currently enrolled college student or recent graduate preferred.
    • Coursework or experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, public relations, or a related field is a plus.
    • Experience with social media management, outreach, or community engagement preferred.
    • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the Columbus metro area required.

    • Primarily in-person role with flexibility in daily scheduling.
    • Requires regular travel within the Columbus metro area; mileage reimbursed in accordance with Creative Living policy.
    • Attendance at all major fundraising and community events is required.
    • Standard office and community-based work environment.
