We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to manage daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail and deep knowledge of regional laws / regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll journal entries (as applicable).
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Generate financial reports and assist with budget tracking.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Liaise with external accountants or auditors during tax season or audits.
- Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate degree or equivalent experience may be acceptable for some roles). 8+ years of experience in bookkeeping or staff accounting.Knowledge of payroll processing and sales tax compliance.Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-state environment.Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar).Strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge is a plus).Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
