Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 17 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Deaconess IL Medical Center - Neuro MS / TELE RN - 12hr NOCS NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE) Contract Length : 13 weeks Start : 11 / 10 Guaranteed Hours : 36 or 48 Primary location : Deaconess IL Medical Center Shift Requirement : 12hr NOCS Float Requirement : Could float to the medical unit On Call / Call Back Requirement : N / A Weekend / Holiday Requirement : Every other weekend. Every other holiday. Required Certs to be attached upon submittal : Must have current active IL RN license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience REQUIRED : Two years of strong Med Surg / TELE, 1 travel assignment. Neuro experience required Charting Experience : Recent EPIC experience required. Patient Population : Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients CVAs, elective back / neck surgeries, cerebral angiogram. General medical Skillset : Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients. NIHSS / dysphagia screen / strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict Is & Os / straight cath / Foleys, intitate / titrate heparin gtts., blood / blood product administration / venipuncture / blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Unit Information : 22 bed Neuro unit - Ratio : 1 : 4 | Charge nurse will have patient assignment Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates Scrub Colors : Navy Blue Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required - Subject to change GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation.
