GHR Healthcare is seeking a local contract nurse RN Intermediate Care for a local contract nursing job in Burlington, Vermont.

Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) RN to join our progressive care team. The IMCU RN plays a vital role in managing patients who require a higher level of care than a general medical-surgical unit, but not intensive enough for the ICU. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to respond quickly to patient needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide direct care to patients with complex medical needs, including cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical conditions
  • Monitor and assess patients closely for any changes in condition and intervene as necessary
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage IV drips (including cardiac drips per protocol)
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards

    • Qualifications :

  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience , with at least 1 year in a step-down, IMCU, or telemetry unit
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring and interpretation of EKGs
  • Strong critical thinking and time management skills
