Due to our success and increased business opportunities, we are looking for an IAS Vice President to provide technical and operational support within Integrated Absence Solutions Practice. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for integrated absence solutions across the organization.
  • Work closely with the executive leadership team to align absence management strategies with broader organizational objectives, including talent management, employee engagement, and overall workforce productivity.
  • Drive innovation in absence management programs and lead the integration of new technologies and tools to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of absence solutions, including case management, program development, and employee communication.
  • Oversee the coordination of various absence programs to ensure seamless integration, efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Establish and refine operational processes, ensuring that they are scalable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure comprehensive compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations related to absence management, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and other applicable laws.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and adjust policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Proactively identify risks related to absence management and work to mitigate potential legal and financial exposures.
  • Provide guidance on legal matters related to employee absence, including collaborating with legal counsel when necessary.
  • Utilize data and analytics to track absence trends, assess program effectiveness, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide senior leadership with insights into absence management program performance, including financial metrics, operational KPIs, and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop and present regular reports to leadership and stakeholders on program outcomes, opportunities for optimization, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including disability management, leave administration, and workers' compensation providers, ensuring that service-level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations are met.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure that services provided by vendors align with the organization's goals and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, such as HR, finance, legal, and IT, to drive integration and innovation across the absence management function.
  • Champion employee well-being by ensuring that absence programs are designed to be supportive, equitable, and user-friendly.
  • Develop and implement clear communication strategies to inform employees about absence policies, procedures, and available support resources.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, engagement, and transparency around absence management processes.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the absence management function, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Oversee financial analysis of absence-related costs, including leave utilization, disability, and workers' compensation, and work to optimize program expenses.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of absence management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the development of team members through ongoing training, career development opportunities, and performance management.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the team to enhance overall program delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in absence management, benefits, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing absence management functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of absence management programs, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, disability management, and other leave types.
  • In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employee leave and absence management.
  • Ability to share one's knowledge (e.g., market, industry, products, services, technology) with others to promote idea generation and drive innovation.
  • Proven experience in managing and optimizing vendor relationships and outsourcing of absence management services.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget development, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale programs, leading cross-functional teams, and influencing organizational change.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strategic focus.
