Job Summary:
The Career & Transfer Education Advisor is accountable to the Assistant Director, Career Education for providing career advising, transfer coaching, informing students of available college services, and referring students to appropriate college/community resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required and three years of experience related to career counseling or career education, human resources, or similar field.
Licensing Requirements: Valid driver's license.

Hiring Range: $48,182-$60,227
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education, particularly at the community college level
Experience with career counseling and with career development
Experience having worked with multiple career assessment tools and an understanding of labor market data
Experience in transfer advising, particularly at the community college level
Job Specific Task List:
- Direct student support by providing academic coaching and career advising for students in GTE programs, with emphasis on dislocated workers to include Trade Act and WIOA students, and, students in CTE programs who are pursuing a career in non-traditional gender roles.
- Career coaching to include assisting students with career research, interviewing and soft skills development, resume writing, and use of career resources.
- Facilitate in person, remote and virtual transfer planning sessions for transfer-bound students 4. Guide students through the process of transferring from HACC to their selected four-year school.
- Responsible for developing and fostering professional relationships with community organizations, Career-Link partners, and HACC faculty and staff to enhance services for students.
- Facilitate career workshops, presentations and events for student groups in CTE programs and academic classes related to these programs.
- Collaborate with Techlink Consortium partners to facilitate CTE school visits to increase student participation in SOAR articulations at HACC.
- Develop and facilitate on-line career student based activities and services for students in CTE programs and assist students in completing on-line career assessments/tools and review results.
- Participate in other College and community service activities, as assigned and allowable per Perkins Guidelines. - (Essential)
