Medical Assistant

Job Description

The medical assistant will provide quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions, promoting health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
• Support clinicians and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management.
• Examine and treat patient populations.
• Provide quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician.

Essential Skills

• Medical assisting
• Patient care
• Phlebotomy experience
• Ability to take vitals (manual vitals preferred)
• Active BLS certification
• Bilingual (English-Spanish)
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• 2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting
• Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' Medical Assistant experience
• Active driver's license required
• Flexible to adjust to changing work environment
• Experience with TriMed EMR preferred
• Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite in a pediatric primary care clinic. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with every other Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hialeah, FL.

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $41000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hialeah,FL.
