Unit Details – L&D / Postpartum

  • Unit Type : L&D, Postpartum, Mother / Baby, GYN, Antepartum
  • L&D Beds : 8 (plus 6 overflow)
  • Triage Beds : 7
  • Postpartum Beds : 40
  • Births : 1,800–2,000 / year
  • Ratios :

    • L&D : 1 : 2 labor | 1 : 1 delivery | 1 : 3 triage

  • PP / Mother-Baby : 1 : 4 couplets
  • Common Cases : Standard labor, high-risk, multiples, VBAC, vacuum-assisted
  • OB Techs : Available (assist with scrub & patient care when no C-sections)
  • C-Section Requirement : Must be able to circulate
  • Floating : To Postpartum
  • Orientation : 1–2 shifts with preceptor
  • Scrubs : L&D provided; PP / Mother-Baby navy
  • Additional : Baby-friendly; 24 / 7 Laborist, Anesthesia, Neonatologist; RT & Pharmacy onsite

    • Required Experience & Certifications

  • Experience : 2+ Years L&D
  • Certs : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • License : Active CA RN License
  • Other : Cerner experience required
