Brief Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following :
- Prepare, label, and process plant and cultivation samples for HLVD testing.
- Record, analyze, and report test results with accuracy and attention to detail on a weekly basis.
- Collect samples in the Greenhouse.
- Retest any undermined results.
- Use required PPE (gloves, lab coats and goggles if needed).
- Executing validation of analytical systems in accordance with company SOPs.
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment such as Thermal Cyclers, centrifuges, pipettes, and other laboratory equipment.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Properly dispose of laboratory waste and biohazard materials.
- Follow all safety and hygiene protocols to maintain a clean and compliant laboratory environment.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies, material, and equipment and submitting re?order requests as needed.
- Storing supplies and equipment in appropriate manner and keeping workspaces, storerooms, and laboratory space to a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
- Performing clerical work related to laboratory activities, such as record keeping and filing.
- Assist in the training of other technicians.
- Follow the workplan.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Competencies :
Capable with computer systems, software, and hardware common to laboratories.Able to critically analyze, draw conclusions about, and summarize test results in a timely manner.Capacity to work independently.Focus on physical tasks for long periods of time without losing attention to detail.Manual dexterity sufficient to reach & handle items, work with fingers, and operate pipette smoothly and consistently.High stress tolerance, adaptable, and flexible ability to work in an ever?changing environment.Education And / or Experience
Bachelors degree in biology, chemistry, plant science, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting (academic or commercial); plant or cannabis lab experience.
Required
Must be 21+ years of age.Bilingual preferred.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast?paced environment.Ability to maintain a positive attitude.Authorized to work in the United States.This position requires a 40?hour minimum work week.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient with computers and data entry (e.g., Microsoft Excel, etc.).Physical Demands

Travel
May be required to travel between the lab and the farm sites on occasion.
Summary
The Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory results by performing routine tasks, including the preparation and testing of samples from mother plants, cultivation, and research & development (R&D) departments. This role also involves maintaining the laboratory environment in compliance with company protocols and all applicable regulations set by the State of California.
