Job Summary :
The Sales and Marketing Associate maintains effective customer relationships, develops opportunities for growth within an existing and new customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales revenue targets. He / she / they will be responsible for taking customer service calls and orders, processing orders, generating sales quotes and term sheets, managing the sales and commercial contracting processes and assisting with customer communication including, but not limited to, order tracking information and payment questions. He / she / they will be responsible for planning, managing and participating in tradeshows and other commercial events as well as outbound marketing projects and associated lead generation activities. This position will also provide timely basic product and technical product information via phone, video and email.
The position will regularly update both the CRM and ERP and generate requested reports, etc. He / she / they will partner closely with field-based Sales Professionals, Service Engineers, Application Scientists and internal departments such as Product Management, Product Technical Support, R&D, Warehouse / Logistics / Manufacturing, Accounting, Regulatory and Quality to facilitate customer support, sales orders, and other sales growth needs.
Job Responsibilities :
- Maintaining effective customer relationships by providing timely product and technical product information via phone, video, and email
- Triaging and / or escalating customer requests and technical questions / issues to the appropriate channels as needed.
- Generating sales quotes / term sheets, receiving and processing purchase / sales orders
- Managing the Contract Management System and communicating with internal and external legal
- Communicating order confirmation and tracking information with clients
- Verifying orders, including customers' contact information and payment details
- Contacting customers by phone or email to answer queries and obtain missing information.
- Maintaining and updating sales and customer records in company CRM, ERP, Contract Management and Quality systems
- Assisting with Inventory management, documentation, product fulfillment / reorder
- Expediting order process through internal stakeholders as needed
- Directing feedback from customers to relevant departments and entering information into CRMs and Quality systems
- Facilitating parts orders and other internal needs with Sales, FSE and FAS groups
- Supporting the sales department with other administrative tasks
- Gathering competitive intelligence information for upstream and downstream marketing
- Occasionally be willing to travel to customer sites to assist with technical or sales support as needed.
- Develops and executes strategic and tactical plans while achieving results on time and budget
- Facilitate, manage and participate in company presence at selected exhibitions and conferences.
- Oversee logistics for all tradeshows and coordination of booth design and all associated planning
- Develops and implements internal / external marketing and sales tools
- Manage Marketing Vendor relationships, including but not limited to, Website, Advertising, Social Media, Tradeshow Suppliers, SalesForce and Various Trade Publications / Agencies
- Manage Lead Generation activities and tracking in company CRM.
- Customer advocate who understands and communicates customer and business needs effectively including technical requirements to cross functional teams that include Regulatory, Clinical, Sales, Quality, Finance and Operations.
- Maintains effective relationships with corporate headquarters staff, customers, cross functional teams, and the commercial team.
Required Qualifications and Attributes :
2+ years' experience in Inside Sales or Customer Support Role in the Clinical Diagnostics industryRequires knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in life sciences or molecular biology background.Willingness and ability to travel (by land and / or air) up to approximately 10% of the time, including some international travel, as needed.Additional / Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in infectious disease diagnosticsAdvanced training and experience with managing Salesforce, ERP, CMSExperience in product life cycle from concept to launch.Knowledge of MDx technologies including PCR applications and markets.Desirable Characteristics / Attributes :
