Responsible for maintaining the seamless operation of the credit union's network infrastructure and data security. Key responsibilities include managing, securing, and supporting network systems within a Hybrid IT environment, monitoring network traffic to identify vulnerabilities, assisting with the implementation of security protocols, and overseeing software and hardware updates, backups, and recovery processes to ensure reliability and safety.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
30% Demonstrates a strong understanding of networking fundamentals to efficiently configure and manage the credit union's Hybrid IT environment and ensure security. Assist minimizing security risks through the development, implementation, and enforcement of comprehensive security policies, system hardening measures, timely patching, and reliable backup and recovery protocols, all while maintaining strict compliance with industry standards and regulations.
25% Application of internal standards and security controls for Hybrid IT Environment, including IS control policies, examine issues and build appropriate security solutions to prevent potential security threats, use available tools to find vulnerabilities and remediate same, also auditing assistance in reporting findings.
15% Assist in planning, implementation and maintaining WAN communications, database systems and network systems and software, etc. Reviews documentation of new modules / features or system updates, Interfaces with vendor(s) on implementation and configuration of software and hardware. Prioritization and resolution of problem issues : Places calls and logs any issues related to data processing and third-party vendors; follows up until any open issues are resolved to credit union's satisfaction.
15% Manage all aspects of systems and desktop support, providing troubleshooting and resource management assistance to IT and internal personnel. This includes support for networks, PCs, printers, peripherals, and PC operating systems.
10% Participates in both short-term and strategic long-term planning for the department, leveraging 2innovative technologies to address the evolving needs of the Credit Union and its members effectively.
5% Performs other related duties as assigned.

2. Ability to quickly assimilate technology, including networking, firewalls, switches, and systems management in a hybrid IT environment.
3. Proficient in the use of VMware, Azure, DELL and SonicWall Systems.

7. Communicate and escalate incidents according to operating guidelines.

10. Knowledge in the areas of information security, IS auditing, data processing operations.

Knowledge and Skills :
Experience Four to five years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. Networking Certification and / or
information technology certifications in lieu of a degree - MCSE, Azure, AWS.
