Background
Albelissa is seeking, for a project assignment with one of our American defense suppliers, a Supply Chain Project Engineer – Pyrotechnic Systems . The position is based in Simsbury, Connecticut, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing partial remote flexibility. The selected candidate will be responsible for the coordination and management of pyrotechnic systems and related qualification activities, ensuring effective collaboration on system-level engineering tasks, product qualification, and supply chain coordination.
This role requires U.S. citizenship as a prerequisite for security clearance eligibility, due to the involvement in sensitive defense programs. The position will also involve managing co-design practices for the development of aerospace products, ensuring alignment with engineering and supplier teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical and managerial interface between the client and suppliers, ensuring effective coordination of supply chain and project activities.
- Provide technical support and facilitate discussions on pyrotechnic systems, system requirements, avionic and architectural alignment.
- Contribute to co-design practices for the development and qualification of aerospace components.
- Manage the information flow across stakeholders, ensuring timely reporting and progress tracking.
- Review and validate technical and functional requirements, ensuring compliance with contractual and system specifications.
- Oversee testing, qualification, and production activities to verify adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and manage non-conformances, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with ITAR / Export Control regulations and documentation procedures.
- Represent Albelissa’s technical and managerial interests on-site at the client and supplier facilities.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent STEM discipline.Proven experience in supplier management, scheduling, progress tracking, and risk management in procurement and development phases.Strong understanding of system requirements management and system architecture analysis.Experience with testing, verification, and qualification activities (a plus).Knowledge of Quality Assurance processes and standards.Familiarity with ITAR and Export Control regulations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.Fluent in English (C1 level or above).U.S. citizenship is mandatory, due to security clearance requirements for defense projects.Role Characteristics
Cross-functional role bridging System Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality domains.Project-based assignment at one of Albelissa’s American defense suppliers.Hybrid work arrangement with regular on-site presence at the supplier’s facility in Simsbury (Connecticut) one to two days per week, and remote work for the remaining days.On-site presence is required to support coordination, reviews, and hands-on activities related to qualification and testing phases.Occasional travel may be required to other client sites.High degree of autonomy and results orientation, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to operate effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams.Location
Hybrid – based in the U.S., with regular presence at the supplier site in Simsbury (Connecticut) one to two days per week.
