Bus Monitor
The Bus Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation to and from school. This position involves supervising student behavior on the bus, assisting with boarding and disembarking, and communicating effectively with the bus driver and school staff to maintain a secure and orderly environment.
Key Responsibilities
This description outlines the position's primary duties; however, bus monitors may be required to perform other job-related tasks as directed by a supervisor to ensure smooth school operations.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licensure : First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Experience : Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is advantageous.
Work Environment : Work is primarily conducted on school buses during student transportation times. The Bus Monitor may be exposed to varying weather conditions and must be prepared to handle a range of student behaviors.
Compensation : Bus Monitor wages will be based on individual experience and within the SY 2025-26 Salary Schedule range.
