Summer Day Camp Teachers - West Boise Y Kids

Description

Our Child Development team at West Boise Y Kids will be needing full-time Summer Day Camp Teachers for the summer season. You will be responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child's development and supports children and their family's diverse needs and interest.

We believe every child is a child of promise and deserves the opportunity to discover who they are, what they can achieve, and belong to a community. The Summer Day Camp Teacher leads a group of children in a variety of activities, experiences, and relationship building.

Schedule :

This is a seasonal position at 40 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday, 7 : 00am-6 : 00pm. Schedule varies based on needs of site. Pay is $15.35-19.19 / hour.

Work Location : 12650 W Bridger Street, Boise, ID 83713

Responsibilities :

• Create an environment that fosters safety though active supervision and by role modeling safe behavior.
• Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
• Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents.
• Implement the established curriculum.
• Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children's appropriate development and behavior.
• Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers.
• Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child's unique background, needs and different learning styles.
• Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming. The environment is created based on the belief that all children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands on open-ended experiences.
