Salary : $20.00 per hour

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for using a band saw to cut a variety of measurements of material, following the appropriate

process to cut the material into specific sizes. Responsible for checking inventory of all sawed parts and fillingshelves with new parts daily.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares and sets machine properly
• Secures material in clamps of automatic feed saw, presets for specific length
• Closes safety cover and depresses controls to start saw and activate automatic feed
• Measures and cuts material to a specific length using proper cutting techniques
• Removes cut parts from saw at end of automatic cycle
• Measures cut parts to verify conformance with job order
• De-burrs cut parts as needed using hand tools
• Sorts cut parts onto pallets and places pallets onto shelves using forklift
• Replaces worn or damaged saw blades using hand tools
• Maintains blade speeds with different sizes of materials
• Drills pins using the drill press while the saw is cutting
• Performs daily inventory of raw materials and notifies supervisor when to reorder
• Troubleshoots issues as they arise and calls technical support as needed
• Cleans saw and work space daily; Scraps all non-usable parts
• Completes lock out / tag out procedures as required by OSHA
• Performs other tasks or duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Theemployee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, such as high temperatures. The noise level inthe work environment is usually moderate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle orfeel objects. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel,crouch, climb, crawl or balance. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee isoccasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
