Navy Financial Management Analyst

Contract / Program : Navy ERP Technical Upgrade ASN FM&C

Number of Positions : TBD

Security Clearance : Secret

Work Location : Onsite, Pentagon

Employment Type : W2 or 1099

Position Overview

Support Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) activities and Navy ERP financial operations for the Navy ERP technical upgrade. Use SAP FM / FI / CO within Navy ERP to validate budget structures, monitor availability controls, and reconcile personnel and pay postings with interfacing data sets. Document best practices for collaboration throughout the Navy. Provide clear, audit-supportable financial analysis and partner with stakeholders to keep execution on plan.

Our client engages experienced professionals and consultants to support the federal government with strategic project execution, financial process optimization, advanced IT solutions, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation assistance. Through innovative transformations, they develop and implement strategies to optimize operations for military departments and agencies across the U.S. Federal Government.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute PPBE tasks for assigned portfolios, including phasing, obligations planning, variance analysis, and year-end close support.
  • Perform Navy ERP FM activities : validate derivation rules, posting periods, fund centers, commitment items, and resolve FM error messages and mispostings.
  • Reconcile financial transactions across Navy ERP with data leveraged from Advana and Jupiter; prepare audit-ready workpapers.
  • Coordinate with HR / pay and logistics counterparts so personnel costs and procure-to-pay activity post correctly to the general ledger.
  • Draft SOPs and desk guides for repeatable, compliant execution; mentor junior team members on Navy ERP FM workflows. Identify best practices.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies to validate requirements, test changes, and confirm cross-system alignment during the technical upgrade.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years in DoD financial management with direct Navy ERP (SAP ECC) experience in FM / FI / CO.
  • Hands-on PPBE support with DoD appropriations and compliance with DoD FMR.
  • Proven ability to configure or validate Navy ERP FM master data and to resolve FM posting issues.
  • Experience preparing audit-ready documentation and supporting audit findings remediation.
  • Strong Excel skills for reconciliation, pivots, and variance analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Desired Skills

  • Experience using Navy ERP
  • Familiarity with Advana and Jupiter reporting to support reconciliation and leadership decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of intragovernmental transactions and G-Invoicing process alignment within Navy ERP.
  • Experience operating in Agile or SAFe environments and developing SOPs or desk guides, focused on streamlining and standardizing processes across the enterprise.
