The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures of the University of Hawai\'i at Manoa invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position in pre-modern Japanese literature at the level of Assistant Professor to start Fall 2026, pending position clearance and availability of funds.
The Department of EALL is among the largest departments of its kind in the country and offers a curriculum unparalleled in its breadth and scope in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language, linguistics, literature, and culture. We offer B.A. degrees in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean; MA & PhD in East Asian Languages and Literatures, with concentrations on Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Linguistics and Literature.
