Job Title : Radiation Oncology
Reports to : Director, Oncology Services
Position Summary : The Radiation Oncology Supervisor oversees clinical and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient department operations. This role is responsible for supervising daily operations, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, coordinating with healthcare providers, and contributing to departmental growth and improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise daily operations of the Radiation Oncology department, ensuring effective scheduling, workload management, and staff performance.
Assist in setting departmental goals, developing policies, and implementing procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
Support the Director in budgeting, resource management, and achieving financial objectives.
Interview, evaluate, and provide training, orientation, and disciplinary actions for staff as needed.
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (JCAHO, State Board of Health, NRC) and maintain accurate documentation and billing practices.
Conduct regular patient care rounds, monitor treatment procedures, and ensure adherence to radiation therapy prescriptions.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to address complex cases and improve patient outcomes.
Oversee the department’s quality assurance program, including chart audits, patient evaluations, and treatment reviews.
Act as a liaison between the department and other hospital units to address operational challenges.
Maintain necessary supplies and equipment to support effective patient care.

Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited radiation therapy program or a bachelor’s degree in an oncology-related field.
ARRT certification in radiation therapy technology preferred.
Minimum of five years of experience in radiation therapy or oncology.
At least three years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal and state standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance in radiation oncology.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Physical ability to assist with patient care, monitor treatments, and maintain a safe work environment.
Working Conditions :
Patient care environment requiring prolonged walking, standing, and direct communication with patients during treatment.
May require flexible hours and occasional overtime.
