Notes :

• This position is on campus in the Tacoma area. It is not remote.
• The Trainee program is for those that are not currently or already taken a Phlebotomy course and / or awaiting WA Dept of Health certification.

This is a Phlebotomist-Lab Aide Trainee Program.

The final Phlebotomist-Lab Aide positions once the program is completed are : Full time or part time day, nights or evening positions. There may also be .8fte and .6ftes available.

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist Trainee is responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients of all ages primarily in an acute care, and ambulatory setting under the supervision of a Phlebotomist. This position works closely with the laboratory and patient care teams. This position requires a service-oriented individual who can establish good, positive, and effective relations with all patients and staff, who has exceptional organization skills, pays attention to detail, and uses discretion and good judgment in decision-making. Internal contacts include MHS staff and management. External contacts include patients, patient's families, and physicians

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.09 - $18.09 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to : skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and / or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
