Manufacturing Document Engineer
Job Title : Manufacturing Document Engineer Reports to : Cable Assembly Engineering Mgr.

Summary
The Manufacturing Document Engineer works in concert with the manufacturing Engineers and the Operations team to capture and eliminate tribal knowledge and perform root cause analysis of major roadblocks and bring that knowledge to the MI Technical writing team. The Manufacturing Document Engineer also supports the Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing Teams in creating, reviewing, releasing, and maintaining technical and manufacturing documentation, supporting Oracle maintenance, ensuring configuration control for required processes as well as supporting through documentation various manufacturing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaison between the Manufacturing Engineering team and the MI writing team to achieve full transfer of tribal knowledge to the MI team
- Bring the realities of manufacturing into the institutional knowledge and culture of the MI team : Bring a “hardware guy’s” mentality to the MI Team.
- Perform and manage assembly document redlines
- Identify patterns and systemic root cause of redlines and work on eliminating redlines on an ongoing basis
- Capture and eliminate reliance on tribal knowledge within the MI team
- Assist in identifying and implementing system changes within the MI team
- Partner with the manufacturing team on first time builds
- Implement document control processes to confirm material compliance.
- Implement document process improvements to correct manufacturing inefficiencies and failures.
- Identify root cause of design related mechanical and electrical failures on the production floor.
- Create / maintain / review / improve / troubleshoot documentation related to manufacturing and testing of RF coaxial cable assemblies.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering a must3-5 years of Engineering experience in a similar role required3-5 years experience in a hands on manufacturing environment requiredExperience in the manufacture of raw RF cable or cable assemblies, preferredExperience with resistance soldering equipment, preferredExperience with PNA test equipment, preferredExperienced using Lean Principles and toolsExperience using Control Processes and Procedures including Change Management System, Nonconformance Reports, Engineering Specifications, Takt time / rate, Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), and Work InstructionsExperience using Six Sigma and / or or other problem-solving methodologiesProficient with Microsoft Office applicationsProficiency with SolidWorks, preferredExperience reading and understanding drawings and specificationsExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent time and project management skills
