Job description

Under the general direction of the Administrator I of the Correspondence, Analysis, Support, and Education Section (CASES), the Senior Compliance Representative is the lead for the Technical Support Team which provides support to the Filing Services Bureau. The lead provides a high degree of technical assistance and training to Compliance Representatives engaged in enterprise projects and complex Personal Income Tax (PIT), Business Entities (BE) and contact center activities. The incumbent works independently to research and resolve more complex issues relating to tax law, filing requirements, and account resolution. The Senior Compliance Representative is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of the work performed by the team. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert in the development, delivery, and maintenance of technical training and staff development of team members and FSB staff. The Senior Compliance Representative is required to understand the bureau's operational goals and maintain a thorough knowledge of PIT and BE laws, departmental policies, and processing procedures. The incumbent must be proficient in FTB tax systems, including but not limited to : Taxpayer Folder, Case Management, PIT and BE Accounts Receivable Collection System, Taxpayer Information, Business Entities Tax System, and Integrated Non-filer Compliance system. The Senior Compliance Representative participates as a team member with peers and others within the enterprise, Filing Division, and bureau to identify and resolve work-related issues. The incumbent works towards creating a strong team environment with all areas that they interact with through effective communication and professionalism. The incumbent promotes a positive environment and ensures the operational goals and quality service objectives are met. All duties are performed within the framework of the department's strategic business goals, mission, and values.

Working Conditions

This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.
