Revenue Analyst - Tuition and Fees

POSITION DETAILS

The Revenue Analyst plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the University by collaborating with College Business Offices, Bursars, the Office of the University Controller (Cash Management), and the University Budget Office. Reporting to the Manager of University Revenue, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing Bursar and Continuing Education accounts, recording monthly and year-end closing entries, maintaining the University's Tax-Offset database, and preparing audit-related data for external auditors. Additionally, the Revenue Analyst will analyze and reconcile cash transactions from Central Office Tuition and Fee accounts.

Key duties include, but are not limited to the following :

• Participates in period-end closing activities, including accounts receivable and revenue analysis and reconciliations.
• Analyzes and reconcile revenue data to ensure accuracy and completeness; investigates discrepancies and variances, and coordinates issue resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepares audit schedules and responds to internal and external auditor requests; supports compliance activities and reporting requirements.
• Recommends accounting policies and best practices related to revenue recognition; collaborates with auditors to align on procedures and implementation.
• Reviews and analyzes monthly revenue, deferred revenue, and allowance accounts; prepares detailed fluctuation analyses.
• Collaborates with Treasury, Financial Aid, and IT teams on system improvements related to revenue processes and reporting.
• Documents and maintains business processes related to tuition and fee revenue for both for-credit and continuing education programs.
• Assists with the development of training materials on departmental procedures, internal controls, and financial systems usage.
• Supports ERP system implementations, enhancements, and upgrades as they relate to tuition and fee revenue management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support the department's goals and operations.

NOTE :

Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum :

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

Preferred :

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range is $61,831 to $79,598 , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.

CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9 / 1 / 26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
