Controller (Real Estate and Service Companies

SUMMARY

Oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for all real estate and service companies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies. Provides financial analysis and guidance to support leadership decision-making across these entities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience at a Big 4 or mid-tier CPA firm, including experience with multi-entity organizational structures, with strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams, advanced proficiency with accounting systems and Excel, and excellent analytical, communication, and organization skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct and manage all accounting functions for all real estate and service companies, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal control standards, while maintaining accurate and timely financial statements.
• Oversee cash management, investments, and intercompany transactions, and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures, lead and mentor accounting staff, and provide financial analysis and insights to executive leadership to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
