Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring night shifts, BLS / ACLS certification, and Epic experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital resource pool as a float RN across all Progressive Care Units (PCU) and Medical-Surgical (MS) units
  • Assignment may require floating every 4 hours based on hospital staffing needs
  • Possible floating to inpatient rehab unit at another nearby facility
  • Patient ratios are 5 : 1 in PCU and 6-7 : 1 in MS units
  • Epic EMR experience required for all units
  • Night shift positions with 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules available from 6 : 45pm to 7 : 15am
  • Required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, and two holidays over winter (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, NYE / New Years)
  • No Christmas holiday time off requests can be approved
  • Local candidates are not accepted; applicants must reside at least 100 miles from the facility for full travel eligibility
  • Candidates residing 50-99.9 miles away or less than 50 miles have eligibility limitations
  • Former employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as travelers
  • Facility does not allow travelers to return after having worked 365 days in total, with rare exceptions
  • Orientation includes paid modules, generally completed pre-start or during the first week

  • Active VA or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must be comfortable floating to all PCU and MS units
  • Previous hospital experience in similar settings preferred
  • Must provide two references for consideration
