Clinical Dietitian

Location: King Edward VII Memorial Hospital
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as nutrition consultant to the health care team(s) and providing direct and indirect nutrition care to patients
- Identifying and assessing patients that are at nutritional risk, patients on therapeutic diets and patients with complex medical conditions for individual needs
- Monitoring patient's progress for efficacy of nutritional intervention, provides reassessment of nutritional status, and adjusts nutrition care plan according to established protocols
- Providing counselling and education to patients/significant others regarding drug-nutrient interactions, nutrition intervention or therapeutic diets as appropriate.
- Responding to nutrition Consults from physicians and the health care team and initiates the nutrition care process
- Promoting the team approach through participation in patient care rounds and discharge planning meetings
Qualifications &/ Registration required: - Bachelor or Masters of Science from an accredited University with a major in Nutrition/Dietetics with a minimum of one-year post internship experience in a clinical hospital setting, within the past three years
- Local registration to practice with the Council for Allied Health Professions (CAHP) and meet all re-registration requirements
- Must demonstrate ability to provide independent clinical nutrition care services to a wide range of patients with simple to very complex medical nutritional therapy
- Commitment to clinical standards of care, personal and professional growth, and improvement of Dietetic services within the hospital
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; liaison with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
Work Type: Full Time
Schedule: Allied Health Services participates in a six-day rota that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Salary Scale: $83,780.26 (BP25-27)
