Job Description

You will be a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and manufacturing precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries, as well as advanced products for the global civil nuclear power industry and military green power initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing cutting-edge technologies on existing and new development platforms, solving complex challenges in various domain areas, including aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, healthcare, and homeland defense. You will collaborate with a matrix engineering and technology organization, working on multiple programs throughout your career. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Performing production support Material Review Board (MRBE) activities and technical supplier support for the ER GMLRS Missile and ER GMLRS launch pod initial production
  • Collaborating with the Camden, AR site manufacturing team and suppliers to resolve ER GMLRS production issues
  • Engineering design and drawing revision and release tasks
  • Working under the direction of a senior lead Design Engineer
  • Collaborating with supporting functions, including Stress Analysis, Materials and Processes, Test, Production, and senior Mechanical Engineers

Further Information About This Opportunity :

This position is in Dallas.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Desired skills

  • Proficiency in PTC Creo for part and assembly design, and Windchill for managing engineering data and documentation.
  • Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with the transition from development to production, including the resolution of design issues and optimization for mass production.
  • Experience in mechanical design (preferably production phase) in aerospace or a similar industry.
  • Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors is a plus.
  • Experience in working with, and providing technical oversight, to subcontracted suppliers
