Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Construction Engineer 3 to support ongoing operations in Los Alamos, NM. This position plays a vital role in advancing critical mission objectives within a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

The Construction Engineer 3 is responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of construction and maintenance projects are executed in full conformance with the Approved Project Documents by monitoring facility maintenance and construction activities. This is accomplished by providing input during scoping, design, execution, and project closeout to ensure baseline documents are accurate, design documents are adhered to, and as-built configurations are verified. Construction Engineers expedite project execution by identifying issues, coordinating technical solutions, and providing timely guidance to the constructor through approved procedures. At the level 3 position, leadership experience is a requirement.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university, along with 6 years of practical work experience or 14 years of industry experience.

• Current registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of construction engineering principles.
• Demonstrated expertise in conducting field verifications of construction work to oversee, facilitate, and enforce compliance with drawings, specifications, national codes, and standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in collaborative problem-solving to resolve facility and infrastructure engineering issues in the field as the liaison between design engineers and the constructor.
• Proven ability to suggest, develop, and implement process improvements.
• Demonstrated skills in multi-disciplinary team building and leadership.
• Expert knowledge in developing Material Take Offs
• Expert knowledge in technical codes of various disciplines, ex, ASME B31, NEC, ASME AG-1, ACI, etc.
