My client is a Houston-based commercial general contractor who has been in business since 2009, originally starting as the in-house construction arm of a family-owned real estate company. Over the years, it has grown to be a regional leader, specializing in corporate interior remodels, industrial facilities, retail build-outs, and healthcare and educational spaces. The company operates primarily in Texas and Louisiana, and is known for its commitment to quality, safety, and collaboration.

Your new role

Due to an uptick in demand, they are looking for a Senior Estimator to join their growing Preconstruction & Estimating team. The duties will

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including interiors, retail, healthcare, and industrial builds.
• Analyze architectural plans, engineering specifications, and scope documents to determine labor, materials, and time requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and realistic estimates.
• Identify and assess cost-related risks and opportunities, offering value-engineering suggestions where applicable.
• Maintain and update internal cost databases and utilize estimating software to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
• Support the bidding process by preparing bid packages, attending pre-bid meetings, and responding to RFIs.
• Monitor ongoing project costs and provide regular financial updates and variance reports to senior management.
