They are seeking a hands-on, visionary Director of Electrical & Firmware Engineering to lead the development of embedded systems and electronics that power their AI-driven security scanning devices. You will be responsible for overseeing hardware architecture, board design, firmware development, and integration of sensors and processors into robust and scalable security products. This role requires a unique blend of strategic leadership and technical depth in electrical and embedded systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software, AI / ML, mechanical, and product to bring breakthrough security technologies to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of electrical and firmware engineers.
• Architect and design high-performance embedded hardware systems for AI-enabled security scanning products.
• Oversee development of real-time firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, and embedded processors.
• Manage board-level design, power systems, sensor integration, and high-speed interfaces.
• Collaborate with software, AI, and mechanical engineering teams to deliver end-to-end product solutions.
• Define technical roadmaps, system requirements, and engineering best practices.
• Lead bring-up, testing, and validation of prototypes and production systems.
• Drive hardware and firmware reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, CE).
• Own vendor relationships for key components, contract manufacturers, and test partners.
• Champion a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability.
