The Role:
Key responsibilities for this role include working closely with the team to manage day-to-day operations of client accounts, execute tactics and produce deliverables as specified in client programs. These programs include content creation, national and international media relations, analyst relations, blogger relations, social media, news releases, speaking engagements, awards, industry monitoring and rapid response, writing, and ongoing materials development. Account Executives participate in agency marketing, particularly agency social media efforts, and day-to-day operations of the agency. Additionally, you have a growth mindset and actively seek opportunities to expand your skills, thinking, professional acumen, and, ultimately, your career.


This is a hybrid position based in either our Boston or Richmond office, with 3 remote days and 2 in-office days per week.


What Youll Do:
Press & Analyst Relations: Pitch, schedule and staff interviews between the media, analysts, bloggers and client executives; book press tours; identify appropriate media targets; pitch and secure placement of bylined articles, edit bylined articles; pitch and secure placement of blogs, edits blogs; secure client inclusion in industry analyst reports; secure consistent, high level media coverage for clients; own media opportunities from start to finish; build media relationships on behalf of the clients and agency; issue press releases over the wire.
Speaking Engagements & Awards: Identify, recommend, pitch and secure speaking and award opportunities; lead speaking and awards programs.
Content Creation: Excellent writing and editing skills; write and edit materials (pitches, talking points, briefing sheets, speaking abstracts, executive biographies, social media, blog posts).
Internet Research: Conduct, analyze and provide sound recommendations based on research.
Client Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the high-tech industry, as well as deep. knowledge of the clients business, and the ability to translate that knowledge into solid PR counsel and results.
Client Relations: Attend client meetings, prepare materials for discussion (account activity report) and recap; prepare client measurement presentations; is a key contributor to projects and programs; build trust with client point of contact and teams; demonstrate professional conduct and demeanor; analyze, contextualize, and frame information from various sources, with a view toward development of strategic recommendations.
Account Management: Review work of junior team members including PitchEngine, media lists, coverage reports, etc.; review and finalize materials ensuring they are client ready; display acute attention to detail for all team deliverables; lead programs as assigned.
Agency Operations: Contribute to agency marketing efforts including awards, social media, blog posts and WordPress updates; participates in new business process; provides input on hiring decisions and annual reviews for junior team members. Train new team members, mentor junior team members and always represent Wireside well. Track time and support general agency administrative tasks.
Travel may be required.


Required Skills/Abilities:
Outstanding written and verbal communication, project management and time management.
Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
Organized with the ability to focus while working off-site.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Understanding of social community management and best practices and platforms/
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Commitment to personal accountability.


Requirements:
2 to 3 years of Public Relations, Marketing, Communications experience, or related industry.
Bachelors Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or related area of study.
Superb organizational, project and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Strong ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely.
Passion for creating excellent high-quality deliverables.
Strong spirit of collaboration, highly self-motivated and results-driven with a can-do attitude.
