Summary : The Industrial Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance of equipment and infrastructure. This role leads a team of technicians, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of industrial systems, including overhead lift systems, pumps, air compressors, and material handling equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards
  • Implement and manage CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work orders, asset tracking, and reporting
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Negotiates with vendors for new tool orders and repairs for equipment in the plant.
  • Monitor inventory of all tools and equipment to prevent theft and loss
  • Oversee maintenance and inspection of :

    • Overhead lift systems (hoists, cranes, gantries)

  • Organize and document all required maintenance records for cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
  • Industrial pumps (centrifugal, diaphragm, gear, etc.)
  • Air compressors and compressed air systems
  • Material handling equipment (conveyors, forklifts, pallet jacks, automated systems)
  • Coordinate with production and safety teams to minimize downtime
  • Manage spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and maintenance budgets
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence

    • Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

  • 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role
  • High school diploma or GED required, advanced degree is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with overhead lift systems, pumps, air compressors, and material handling equipment
  • Extensive knowledge in a variety of industrial / mechanical systems
  • Previous managerial experience highly preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Experience managing multiple vendors
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive performance metrics
  • Can effectively and efficiently handle both administrative and mechanical responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Makes safety a priority at all times
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM principles is a plus
