DMAC Security is seeking to hire a qualified candidate to observe and detect criminal activity, then alert the proper authorities. Your detailed awareness and prompt reach out help keep properties secure and ensure everyone feels safe. As an security officer, you will conduct unarmed foot and / or vehicle patrol (interior and / or exterior), control access and egress, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct and perform other duties as specified in post-orders. Ideal for someone who is customer service-oriented, has a friendly demeanor, is energetic, and is welcoming. Will need to be able to retain information on the complex to be able to answer guests' general questions. Specific Duties and Functions Maintain designated post at the front entrance of the store Personal belongings are not permitted at the front of the store. The security guard will be provided with a locker or other secure area to keep their personal belongings. Always be polite, courteous, and respectful. Greet all customers entering the store by saying, “Hello, welcome to [name of store].” Thank customers as they exit the store. If the electronic article surveillance (EAS) activates when a customer is exiting the store, politely direct the customer to a store employee for assistance. Determining the cause of an EAS activation is voluntary. At any point in time and for any reason, the customer may refuse and leave without having their belongings checked. Security guards are not permitted to remove EAS tags,including URBN tags or another retailer's tags. The security guard may be provided with a store walkie-talkie and an earpiece to communicate with the manager in the event of an emergency. If the security guard needs to reach a manager, they should state that they have an emergency and wait for the manager's response. The use of any type of “code word” is strictly prohibited. In the event of a physical threat or physical violence, the security guard must immediately notify management. At the manager's request, the security guard may support management in telling a customer to leave the store. Management will decide when and if it is appropriate to contact the police or other emergency agencies. The security guard will be made aware of all emergency exit points located within the store and must immediately inform management if a customer is seen leaving from an emergency exit. Security guards must comply with the URBN checkout policy. Bag checks will be performed every time the security guard leaves the premises, at break time, and at the end of their shift.
