Maintenance Mechanic

Location : Schenectady, NY

FLSA : Non-Exempt

Reports To : Maintenance Manager

Physical Requirements : Lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climbing, bending, sitting, standing, stooping, walking, crawling, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.

Hours of Work : M-F, 40 hours / wk., 7am – 3 : 30pm. On Call, Holiday and overtime work as required

Pay Range : The pay range is $17.65 to $24.00

Job Summary :

To provide maintenance services to the various Agency homes and locations. To ensure a safe environment for all residing and working in these facilities.

Job Qualifications :

High school diploma / GED.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in building maintenance.
1 year of trade experience preferred (i.e. plumbing, electrical, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
Excellent communication skills and basic computer usage skills.
CPR certification required.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
Valid, clean NYS Driver's License

Major Responsibilities :

Provide skills to maintain building components which include but are not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, mobility equipment, fire and security systems.

Assure that all maintenance work performed by self are completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Perform task necessary to complete routine and preventative maintenance work orders as assigned.

Ensure that all documentation, purchase requisitions and work orders are accurate, complete and timely.

Monitor agency for unsafe conditions and correct or report any found immediately.

All in house projects must be completed in an efficient manner.

Maintain work areas, tools and equipment as agreed.

Follow all department / agency policies and procedures.

Provide person centered individual attention to all consumers.
