We are excited to be partnering with a well-established law firm in the Southwest Metro area that is seeking an experienced (4-7+ year) Family Law Paralegal to join its growing team!
This position offers the flexibility to work primarily remote following an initial in-office training period. It's a great fit for someone who is confident managing a caseload independently and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Draft and prepare legal documents (pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery, settlement agreements).
- Manage case files and track deadlines to ensure compliance with court procedures.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and answer questions.
- Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and third parties to schedule legal proceedings.
- Prepare materials for hearings and trials, including exhibits and trial binders.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information.
- Track and record billable time accurately.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 3-7+ years of experience working exclusively in family law as a paralegal required.In-depth knowledge of Minnesota family law statutes, court rules, and procedures.Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple active cases and meet tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with a professional and compassionate approach to client interaction.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document / case management systems.Experience with Minnesota court e-filing systems.Must be familiar with discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, issuing subpoenas, and organizing / documenting responsive materials.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal oversight.Paralegal certificate or degree from an accredited program (preferred but not required).Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with legal practice management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms).Prior experience in guardianship or contested estate matters is a plus.Notary Public certification is a bonus.Benefits offered :
