Claims Litigation Manager
The Claims Litigation Manager, in collaboration with in-house counsel, partner counsel and outside defense counsel, directs the claims adjudication process for all HFA claim disputes. This includes responding to legal inquiries, depositions and participating in mediation. Additionally, the role has full authority to negotiate claim settlements on behalf of the Company.
Claims management and resolution :
- Respond to interrogatories and testifies in depositions as corporate representative, on behalf of all named defendants
- Participate in settlement conferences and court-order mediation as the corporate representative
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of the Company
- Manage recovery of subrogation and salvage proceeds
Attorney coordination and collaboration :
Selects and directs outside defense counsel, in collaboration with Clayton general counsel and Assurant's in-house counsel.In collaboration with counsel, develops and implements unique defense strategies to resolve litigation mattersFinancial coordination and expense management :
Manage litigation expensesDevelop and maintain budgetsCompliance :
Stay abreast of regulations and requirements related to insurance and insurance claims in applicable jurisdictionsOther duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experienceExperience : At least 5 years experience managing insurance claims for personal, property and / or casualty lossWorking knowledge of insurance claim litigation; paralegal experience a plusDemonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to drive resultsAbility to analyze and interpret laws and regulationsCreativity and flexibility in analytical skills to facilitate leveraging solutions for positive outcomesExcellent, clear and concise communication skills, both oral and writtenPhysical demands :
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.30% communication methods completed over the phone.Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.Benefits :
