Medical Coder

Job Title : Medical Coder Location :  Remote

Employment Type :  40 hours / week M-F between 8am to 8pm CST SHORT-TERM CONTRACT : Through the end of January 2026 Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain required levels of performance in both coding accuracy  and productivity .
• Assign appropriate ICD-10 codes  for physician and facility services in Observation  and Inpatient settings .
• Abstract additional data elements during chart review as needed.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of client-specific coding guidelines .
• Perform coding duties according to pre-determined schedules.
• Review and maintain records of charts coded, held, and / or missing.
• Stay current with coding updates by reviewing materials provided by leadership.
• Participate in coding department meetings and educational events.
• Work independently with minimal supervision; may act as a resource for others and coordinate activities.
