  • Position Summary :

    The Elementary Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional development. The assistant will help implement lesson plans, provide individual and small-group instruction, supervise students during class and recreational activities, and assist with classroom organization and communication with families.

    Key Responsibilities :

    • Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with the schools curriculum.
    • Provide academic support to individual students or small groups, reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher.
    • Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance, modeling positive behavior and encouraging respectful peer interactions.
    • Supervise students in a variety of settings, including the classroom, playground, lunchroom, and during school events or field trips.
    • Prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment.
    • Help assess student progress through observation and data collection as requested by the lead teacher.
    • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and positive classroom climate that encourages curiosity, responsibility, and independence.
    • Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families, respecting confidentiality and school policies.
    • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
    • Qualifications :

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or coursework in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
    • Prior experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is strongly preferred.
    • Passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
    • Patient, reliable, and flexible in a dynamic school environment.
    • Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and take initiative when appropriate.
