This role is ideal for a smart, sharp, and driven engineer with a strong grasp of concept-level design, schematics, and construction drawings. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, with experience in civil design for mission-critical environments.

As a subject matter expert, you will have a direct impact on the design of prototypical Data Center sites, provide technical design guidance and vendor oversight, solve large-scale implementation issues, and build a strong understanding of site design and program requirements.

The successful candidate will develop and implement design strategies to expand the firm's expertise, footprint and profitability in Critical Facilities and Digital Infrastructure. Our client is looking for a Critical Facilities Development Specialist that has expertise in Civil Engineering and design for data center and infrastructure development efforts, including property diligence, site and facility design, and utility interconnection.

Responsibilities :

• Develop preliminary site layout concepts using Civil 3D, incorporating grading, utilities, and circulation patterns while maintaining flexibility for design evolution
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce high-quality designs and documentation
• Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners
• Maintain strategic relationships with in-region stakeholders
• Create / communicate conceptual designs gathered from meetings and create / maintain project documentation pre- sale, prior to construction, during, and after construction
• Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design for Data Centers and supporting infrastructure.
• Create, review, and release design RFPs for various data center projects
• Travel for site assessments when needed, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction
• Foresee and manage project-specific cost and schedules variables
• Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously
• Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency
• Prepare proposals, presentations, and briefings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with industry best practices
• Managing diligence efforts, optimizing utility and network interconnections, working with design and construction teams
• Manage our external civil design consultants through the Data Center design and construction process.
• Review designs for site layout, grading, power substations, storm water, utilities, and pavement.
• Coordinate with internal and external architectural, structural, and MEP design engineers
