- approximately 40 hours / biweekly pay. Hours vary.

Job Description
This position is at the full performance level within a county long-term care facility. A position in this class provides counseling to residents with regards to spiritual and personal matters. Work includes conducting religious services and performing one to one religious counseling sessions. A position in this class reports directly to a higher- level administrative position, the Director of Life Enrichment / Assistant Director of Life Enrichment.TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK :
Conducts religious services; arranges for religious services and activities by volunteer groups; performs one to one religious / personal counseling sessions; protects the religious rights and privileges of all residents; and serves as a county representative to the religious community.Interviews new residents and assists them in orientation and adjustment to their new environment; meets with and counsels family members when requested; develops and promotes new programs; functions as a member of the treatment staff team.Performs related work as required; other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Thorough knowledge of the philosophies, principles, practices, methods, and techniques of religion.Thorough knowledge of the modern principles and practices of pastoral counseling.Knowledge of the psychology of personal adjustment.Ability to lead small on unit and house programs / public speaking skills.Ability to work closely with Part- Time Chaplain for the betterment of the resident's faith needs.Ability to obtain the confidence and trust of others, and work in close relationships with them.Ability to meet with the public.Familiarity with a wide range of religious perspectives and respect for diverse opinions, beliefs, and life experiencesAbility to preach and engage in theological conversations with residents and staff.Experience :
Degree program in theology, education, counseling, or closely related field.Additional experience may be supplemented by special work in chaplaincy or graduate study in guidance, psychology, sociology, or education.OR any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above.Education :
Bachelors in related field.A Master of Divinity or equivalent degreeA minimum of 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)A minimum of two years' experience in pastoral ministry, including working with older adultsCredentialing for ministry by a recognized denominationJob Type : Part-time
