Rockhurst University invites applications for a tenure-track (TT) Assistant Professor of Psychology (Cognitive / Experimental). This is a 9-month, tenure-track (TT) position beginning in August 2026. The Psychology program is housed in the Department of Psychology, Justice, and Society and offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. A minor in Psychology is also offered.

Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching and scholarly potential, including a research agenda and plans for peer-reviewed publications and presentations. In addition to demonstrating excellence in teaching and research, the successful candidate is expected to advise and mentor undergraduate students, and engage in service with the department, college and university. The successful candidate should be able to teach a wide range of psychology courses, such as Intro. to Psychology, Perception, Learning, Motivation, Experimental Methods, and Statistics. There are opportunities to develop specialized courses for the program. The teaching load is 18 hours.

Minimum Qualifications

• in Cognitive Psychology or Experimental Psychology with a cognitive specialization
• Evidence of teaching excellence in higher education
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Evidence of ability to engage in research that results in publications and presentations. The department values research that can integrate undergraduate students.
