Position : Credit Quality Analyst
Location : Chicago, IL (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office, Monday & Friday remote)
Assignment : 12 / 29 / 2025 – 05 / 01 / 2026 (temp to hire)
Schedule : Monday – Friday, Business Shift 9am-5pm
Pay Range : $32.05 hourly, paid weekly.
About the Team
The Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) & Derivative Core Operations (FDCO) team provides end-to-end trade control, confirmation, and settlement services across FICC businesses. The group also supports utility OTC derivative confirmation and settlement services for non-FICC businesses.
Our Derivatives Operations function ensures accurate and efficient transaction processing for a broad range of complex instruments, with a strong focus on risk management, control, and client protection. We are at the forefront of industry change—driving automation, process improvement, and innovation to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Trade Control Analyst to join our Derivatives Operations team. This role provides operational support and expertise to Sales and Trading Desks, external clients, and internal partners. You will manage lifecycle events, trade exceptions, reconciliations, and clearing activities, while contributing to process enhancements and control improvements.
This position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within the derivatives and fixed income space.
Key Responsibilities
Resolve trade exceptions and support break resolution in coordination with internal teams.
Respond to ad hoc queries from traders, sales teams, and clients.
Manage trade lifecycle events, allocations, and novation processes.
Support new product launches and activities for the credit derivatives business.
Produce and analyze detailed reporting for internal stakeholders.
Liaise with internal partners to ensure accurate client and regulatory reporting.
Perform system break analysis and coordinate timely resolutions.
Highlight and track collateral deficiencies to mitigate operational risks.
Participate in clearing controls, operational projects, and process enhancement initiatives.
Provide timely, professional responses to client settlement queries.
Required Qualifications
Background in derivatives trading or operations with strong product understanding.
Working knowledge of corporate loans and related instruments.
Intermediate proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, reporting).
Proven client service and communication skills, with the ability to present confidently.
Strong ability to navigate and collaborate within a matrixed work environment.
Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
Demonstrated risk management mindset with focus on controls and accuracy.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills across diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a client service or middle office function.
Familiarity with Operational Risk frameworks.
Exposure to Credit Derivatives or Total Return Swaps (TRS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
