Nurse-Patient Ratios : 1 : 4

Required Certifications :

BLS, PALS

Preference for CPHON certification for oncology care

Common Diagnoses / Types of Patients :

Respiratory, diabetic, surgical, mental health, and other pediatric conditions

No cardiac patients

Experience or Skills Needed :

Minimum of 2 years preferred

First-time travelers accepted

Charge Nurse :

There is a Charge Nurse on each shift

Nurse Aids / Patient Care Techs :

Available on the unit

1 : 8 during the day and 1 : 20 at night

Availability of Pediatrician :

In-house during the day

May take call from home at night

Respiratory Therapy Equipment :

Home vents may be used

Trach / vent experience is not required for travelers

Tele / Monitor Techs :

Not available on the unit

Telemetry, if ordered, is monitored remotely

Shifts & Scheduling :

12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 pm

Schedule coordination available

Weekend Requirement :

5 shifts required in 6 weeks

Holiday Requirement :

Potential to work at least one holiday during the contract

Call / Standby Requirement :

Not applicable, unless the candidate has NICU experience

Floating Requirements :

None required

Scrub Color / Dress Code :

Any color scrubs are acceptable

Unit / Department Specific Orientation :

Two 12-hour shifts of orientation provided

Cancellation Policy :

Four shifts per 13-week contract
