A biotech company in Los Angeles, CA is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new, certified Medical Assistant (MA).
About the Opportunity :
- Schedule : 3 shifts per week
- Hours : 12-hour shifts
Responsibilities :
Perform phlebotomy activities to draw samples for screening and collection visitsConduct medical history questionnaires and qualify potential donors over the phone and in person to ensure they meet the specific study requirementsGather and input appropriate and accurate information to register donors to become part of the donor networkAssist with day-to-day activities and ensure the center operations run smoothlyCheck in donors upon arrival and ensure they are seated in the proper waiting areaExplains policies, procedures, or services to donors using clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practicePrepare patients for apheresis procedures, explaining the process and addressing any questions or concernsMaintain accurate and complete records of procedures, including patient information, procedure details, and outcomesClean / re-process equipment and supplies based on SOPsMaintain inventory of supplies and place orders as necessaryEnsure all critical materials and consumables for each collection are stocked before each appointmentPerform other duties, as neededQualifications :
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and / or Certificate of Completion of an accredited MA or similar programCurrent BLS certificationStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAuthorization to work in the United StatesCreative thinker with the ability to identify and solve problemsAbility to function well both independently and as part of a teamAbility to multitask under pressure and be highly responsive to patients & team membersDesired Skills :
Experience with Salesforce, Procurify, and Airspace applications
