Estimated Weekly Salary Estimated Weekly Pay Range : $1,650 - $1,770 per week Travel Nursing Job Details Position Type : Travel Nursing – On-Site Location : Chicago, IL 60649 (South Side, near Lake Michigan, parks, and diverse neighborhoods) Unit : Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown Unit Shift : Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 24 / 2025 – End : 2 / 23 / 2026) Patient Ratio : 1 : 3–4 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Free Parking : Available in facility lots Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric stepdown, cardiac stepdown, or PICU nursing experience Active Illinois RN license (required at time of submission) BLS and PALS certifications Proven experience with ventilated pediatric patients, tracheostomy care, and gastric tube management Meditech charting experience Ability to manage a 1 : 4 patient ratio in a fast-paced clinical setting Prior travel nursing experience preferred Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) COVID-19 vaccine and current booster required Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with chronic illnesses and technology dependence (ventilators, tracheostomies, G tubes) Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient status; collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR Float within scope to support facility needs Participate in weekend rotations and block scheduling Maintain a professional appearance; pediatric-themed scrubs encouraged Take the next step in your nursing career with this rewarding pediatric healthcare job in Chicago, IL.
