We are looking for a skilled Paralegal to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will provide essential support in civil litigation cases, working closely with attorneys to manage case files and ensure timely preparation of legal documents. This position is ideal for someone with keen attention to detail, a strong background in litigation processes, and proficiency in case management software.
Responsibilities :
- Assist attorneys in managing a caseload of approximately 50-55 litigation cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery requests, and interrogatories.
- Conduct legal research and compile relevant information to support ongoing litigation.
- Manage case files using Neos and other case management software to maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions as required.
- Review and organize discovery documents to prepare for trials and other legal proceedings.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Provide administrative support, including maintaining calendars and tracking important deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless case management and workflow.
- Adapt quickly to the needs of the team and assist in various legal tasks as required.
- Proven experience as a litigation paralegal, particularly in plaintiff-side cases.
- Proficiency in case management software, such as Neos, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of legal procedures, including drafting complaints, discovery, and interrogatories.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and case management.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with civil litigation processes and case management best practices.
